Advanced Green Technologies and Lumos Solar Bring Architectural Solar Solutions to Commercial and Municipal Projects Across Florida
Advanced Green Technologies (AGT) and Lumos Solar are bringing architectural solar solutions to high-profile commercial and municipal projects across Florida. Founded by Advanced Roofing in 2007, AGT has grown from a solar division into a full-service commercial and industrial solar operation capable of taking projects from early design through construction and beyond.
Today, AGT’s experience includes rooftop solar, ground-mounted systems, solar carports and canopies, floating solar, and battery storage. Increasingly, that work includes projects where solar becomes an intentional part of the architecture—not simply an energy system added after the building is designed.
Architectural Solar for the Winning Solution
With design, engineering, and construction capabilities under one roof, AGT can become involved during the earliest stages of a project and carry the solar scope through installation. The company’s partnership with Lumos Solar has become especially valuable on projects where solar must complement the architecture while also meeting the functional needs of the site.
“Having Lumos as our go-to for these high-visibility jobs has helped us win bids where the product was written directly into the basis of design.” -Clint Sockman, Executive Vice President, Advanced Green Technologies
Working with Lumos gives AGT an architectural solar solution for highly visible projects where appearance, structure, energy generation, shade, and the overall user experience all need to work together. The partnership is helping AGT pursue projects where solar is included directly in the basis of design.
Featured Architectural Solar Projects
- Largo City Hall: An elevated Lumos Vision solar array approximately 80 feet above grade connects the parking garage to the new City Hall building.
- Sarasota County Administrative Center: AGT installed a long Lumos solar canopy over the bus parking and loading area, along with a covered pedestrian area near the building entrance.
- Lauderhill Mall Mass Transit Center: AGT and Lumos delivered custom architectural solar canopies for this municipal transit hub.
“Architectural solar can do more than generate renewable energy. Well-designed solar structures can provide shade and covered spaces, support sustainability goals, improve the use of parking and pedestrian areas, and become a highly visible part of a facility’s architecture.”
Designing for What Comes Next
In 2026, Advanced Green Technologies and Advanced Roofing became 100% employee-owned, strengthening the companies’ long-term commitment to their employees, customers, and the communities they serve.
“By integrating solar into canopies, pedestrian areas, parking structures, and other architectural elements, project teams can create renewable energy systems that serve both practical and visual purposes.”
