SolarEdge and Advanced Green Technologies Celebrate Completion of One of Florida’s Largest Rooftop Solar Projects at the Orange County Convention Center
ORLANDO, FL
On April 24, 2026, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) hosted the Great Solar Celebration, marking the successful completion of one of Florida’s largest commercial rooftop solar installations. The 2.2 MW DC system—engineered and installed by Advanced Green Technologies and powered by SolarEdge Technologies (Nasdaq: SEDG) inverters with power optimizers—more than doubles the Convention Center’s onsite solar energy production while maintaining the same rooftop footprint.
The milestone event brought together Orange County leadership, sustainability advocates, industry partners, and members of the press at the OCCC in Orlando. Speakers celebrated not only the technical achievement but also the community impact that defined the project from decommissioning through completion.
A Full-Circle Moment for Florida Solar
“When we started in the solar business nearly 20 years ago, the Convention Center’s original installation was something of a ‘holy grail’—a project the industry looked up to. To come back all these years later and replace it with a system that delivers more than double the original capacity is a true full-circle moment for us. The scale, complexity, and impact of this project make it a major milestone for commercial solar in Florida.”
-Clinton Sockman, Executive Vice President, Advanced Green Technologies
The event was emceed by Carrie Black, Orange County Chief Sustainability Officer, and featured remarks from OCCC Executive Director Mark Tester, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, District 6 Commissioner Michael Scott, and Charles Ellis, SolarEdge Vice President of Commercial & Industrial Sales. Attendees were then invited on guided rooftop tours of the solar array, with live demonstrations of the SolarEdge monitoring platform and Hanwha Q CELLS modules.

Turning Decommissioned Panels into a Statewide Win
“Upgrading our rooftop solar array was never just about improving the facility. It was about giving back to the community, reducing our environmental footprint, and continuing to lead by example. This project reinforces our commitment to sustainability not only in the state of Florida, but across the global convention industry. We’re proud to demonstrate how large-scale public venues can operate responsibly while delivering meaningful impact to the people they serve.”
