62 Kilowatt Solar Carport Installation for St. John County

In 2013, Advanced Green Technologies was hired to design, procure, and install a 63-kilowatt solar carport for St. John’s County Council on Again in St. Augustine, Florida.

This was a difficult project to complete due to a limited number of manufacturers that were able to meet the 100% Buy American requirements for the material need on this project as well as, having to complete construction while the parking lot was in use.  Our team worked closely with the project’s engineers and suppliers to re-work the entire electrical design and 25% of the structural layout to accommodate the use of a Suniva OPT 300W PV module while maintaining the Federal grant approved minimum 63 kW design capacity. This re-design could have potentially cost the project team valuable time if it wasn’t for the cooperation and teamwork amongst the owners, engineers, and vendor’s that allowed AGT to quickly develop a  solution that stayed within the original project budget and met all of the federal grant requirements, design intent, and aesthetic requirements of the county and their residents.
